What infill actually is
Infill is the granular material (usually sand or a specialty blend) brushed down between the turf blades. It does three big jobs: it weighs the turf down so it lies flat, it holds the fibers upright so the lawn looks plush, and it helps the surface stay cooler and drain properly.
Why it thins out
Over time, foot traffic, rinsing, wind, and cleaning gradually deplete infill. As it thins, blades flatten, the turf looks tired, and it drains less evenly.
The odor connection
Pet urine soaks into the infill — so when we refresh it, we're replacing the very layer that was holding the smell.
